Japan was the first country to, research, develop and introduce Micro Nano Bubble technology. In Japan there are several companies connected to the development of this technology.

The “Micro Nano Bubble Institute” and the “Fine Bubble Industry Association” have been set up to research the properties and uses related to this technology.

The use of Micro Nano Bubble technology in ocean going vessels can greatly improve fuel efficiency by creating less drag and increased screw (propeller) rotation.

In Japan the next generation cruise ships being built by the Mitsubishi Corporation will incorporate the MALS “Mitsubishi Air Lubrication System” The system will generate Micro bubbles along the length of the ship’s hull changing the molecular structure of the water resulting in reduced resistance.
